Hello (again?) dear Reader, and welcome!
That verse (above) is from today's Proverb. I'd like to unpack its meaning (as I understand it, of course) if that's alright and your comments/ thoughts (no matter what they are!) are welcome as well.
What this verse means to me, is that a wise person, when confronted by another with an issue (whatever that may be: 'you were mean to me', 'you did this/that', et cetera) will first stop to consider the matter at hand, in true courage and honesty pausing to self-examine to bravely, truly see if there is any truth to the issue at hand.
The general initial (correct) thought response is something to the effect of "What is my part in this, if any?"
Now here, this process can go one of two ways:
1) correctly: the critically important elements here being (equally) courage and honesty, or
2) the wrong way: rather than seeking Truth, the hearer instead scrambles to justify Self and shirk any/all personal responsibility for any and all allegations.
The latter eventually leads to the very unfortunate loss of any ability to discern fact from fiction.
Let that be a warning.

As believers, we also seek God to show us any and all truth that we, ourselves, are blind to as well, with the expectant courage the He will show us in His clear but gentle way, as well as the grateful assurance that He will also then heal us where we allow Him to, and guide us in His Righteousness.
So... please try to be as honest as you can with yourselves the next time you feel offended or are being accused of something:
Does it apply to me? What IS my part in this, if any at all?
That, my friend, is the path to integrity, true integrity, internalizing truth in the inmost being. π
