And here's the first video we uploaded to the new YouTube channel "From the Ashes" - it's a sunrise from three days ago from our previous view of the sunrise.
Anyway, today's Proverb is all about adultery again. Honestly! I know that it's very important for us to avoid that sin, but wish that it wasn't the author's favorite topic for literally several consecutive days on end. Oh, well. So, knowing what an extreme issue that I have with my mouth (the tongue), I'm reading this today as well:
Wow! Everything about that chapter speaks volumes of encouraging correction to me and, I pray/hope, it affects you in the same way, dear Reader. Let us always be grateful for God's correction and the trials that come our way, both of which are validation, proof that He does, indeed, love us, and that He is working in our very lives, meeting each of us at the point of need in the perfect moment, every time without fail, and we often only perceive it as such in hindsight.
I have (what is now) a funny story (but twenty-four hours ago, I was furious). We have a little plumbing to do in order to restore water service here, so yesterday morning, hours before Dawn, I put on houseshoes and grabbed the empty plastic milk jug to go over to our neighbor's yard and use the garden-hose to carry a gallon of water back home. First, I went to the back of the house and turned the water on and then walked to the front, grabbed the service-end of it and filled the jug... only, I walked too close to the freshly-watered tree in the front yard and my house-shoes immediately sank and got stuck. FINE. So, I walked back barefoot, only the path is a rough gravel and every step was painful; it took about 90 seconds getting there, but about ten minutes getting back. When I got back home, I screamed about it for several minutes, feeling like the fool I often am. The house-shoes need to be put through the wash. I need to somehow either become smarter or just get on board with being an idiot. Probably not, but maybe you can relate? Anyway, that's my "I was mad but now it's funny" story from recently.
I pray the Lord protect our leaders and all who surround them, that He destroy and expose the entire human-trafficking industry and set literally every captive free; God, thank You for another day of Life today! We ask for You to please change the hearts of men and show Yourself strong in and through us, to the glory of Your Name, God. Please flood the darkness with the light of Your Presence, dear Lord. Please heal the sick, end all wars, expose evil and defeat all of it with Your Truth and righteousness. Please give the gift of salvation to all of our family, friends, colleagues, and yes, Lord, even to our enemies in accordance with Your will and Your Word. Please eradicate the murder of abortion, God, making it unthinkable in the hearts and minds of all expectant mothers on earth, God, in Jesus' Name.
Please set Your bridle on my stupid tongue, God, and speak healing through me to benefit the hearers, Lord and give me the grace to otherwise be silent. God, please forgive us for our sins today and prompt each of us to extend that same unmerited favor to all who sin against us, being imperfect human beings like we ourselves our, God. Thank You again for this day; please enable me to be productive with it. Show me how to love You more, Jesus; let that be the last thing on my mind before breathing my last someday. In all things, though, let Your will be done above all. Thank You, dear Lord, we love You. In Jesus' Name. amen.
Thank you for spending your treasure with me today, dear Reader (minutes of time that you cannot reclaim, that is). May God touch you today like never before! May He set every captive free, and change you from glory to glory, in Jesus' Name.
Go forth and be blessed. 💜
