Greetings and salutations, dear Reader, and welcome to this obscure American blog. Miraculously, we find ourselves on this side of the grass again today, so let's endeavor to make the very most of it, shall we?
A favorite verse from today's Proverb:
This passage - verses 5 and 6 - are well-known; in fact, many believers can quote them without hesitation. But what does it really mean? There's a lot to unpack here, and that's what I'll try to do.
So the first word is "trust" which brings to mind a small child holding the Father's hand and content to walk at His side, unconcerned with scrutinizing Him or His plans.

TRUST
Not to be confused with: rationalize, scrutinize, second-guess, dissect, or anything other than "trust".
Something else that is very "stand out" to me here is the fact that we're not told here to lean into Him with our minds - though intellectual endeavors are often quite beneficial and productive. So, not to vilify logic or reason, but we are to reach out beyond the confines of the human mind and extend the deepest part of who we are out to Him in the effort to connect with the eternal and see His face. Another passage that also tells us to put our minds and thoughts in their rightful place, second to God and the Truth of His Word is the admonishment to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ as well as 'there is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof is Death'.
Simply put, dear Reader, please allow me to encourage you to exercise that child-like faith. Ask the Holy Spirit to show you when you're trusting more in logic/reason than you are in Him (it's all good, He certainly doesn't mind). Ask Him for grace and wisdom and He will answer. There's literally nothing in the Universe that God cannot do save ONE thing, and that is lie.
Thank you for spending a few minutes in this morning's devotion with me today, dear Reader. I pray the Lord bring you all the wisdom and guidance you need, today and always, in Jesus' Name, amen.

Take a moment to contemplate what it really means - what does it look like to 'trust' in Someone? What does that mean to you? When (not 'if', because we're all human) but when you find yourself not trusting Him, confess that to Him and ask Him to help you to trust in Him with a pure, child-like faith (since our adult, world-weary minds more often than not get in the way). The Word promises that if we ask, we shall receive (Matthew 7:7).
